09-16-05 update:  ok.  that didn't work.  turns out to be a whole lot easier to buy a defective camera than to return it.  am using my mom's camera.   (thank you, mom!)   here we go! 

09-09-05  update:  camera arrived and we are in a battle of wills.  it's big and ugly and antique, but not exactly like my other one, and i can't make it work.  the blurry photos are people you know.   i've lightened, brightened and worked the contrast as best i can in the web-site software to make these fine people somewhat recognizable as the relatives you sent down here.   kind of squint and maybe you can figure out some of the images.

09-08-05 update:  big, ugly antique camera ordered 11 days ago is (still) not here. and you should see what you're missing.  the best first-ducks ever, gorgeous turkeys, deer heads, and starting on the life-sized.

08-30-05  update:  no new photos until new camera arrives.   the 4-year-old sony mavica finally took its last photo.  great, great camera, though caleb despaired of us ever having a digital camera that wasn't a "big, ugly antique".  won't he be surprised to learn that i've found one exactly like it to replace it with?  hope to be back on-line with new photos by monday.  thanks.  carrie
